Acceptable Use Policy

Safe WebHost respects our clients' diverse range of interests and applications and will not ban or remove content solely on the basis of opinion. However, your rights to use of our services are also dependent upon you complying with legal requirements having regard to copyrighted or illegal materials, those that are illegal in nature or content that unreasonably affects system performance.

Illegal Materials

You agree to only use our services for lawful purposes. This means you cannot transmit, store or present any data or material that is in violation of any United States laws. Examples of illegal content include:

* Pirated software
* Hackers programs or archives
* Warez Sites
* Illegal MP3s
* Material protected by trade secrets
* Copyrighted material
* Threatening or obscene content
* Child Pornography or links to same
* Promotion of illegal activities

Adult sites that are non-offensive in nature may be deemed acceptable however, Safe WebHost will be the sole arbiter as to what is considered a violation of this provision. Any site found to have content of this nature will be terminated and no monies will be refunded.

In order to satisfy these provisions, you must not upload, post, email, transmit or otherwise make available any content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, tortious, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, libelous, invasive of another's privacy, hateful, or racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable.

Chat Rooms

We do not allow clients to install their own CGI chat rooms. These tend to be a large user of system resources and this could adversely affect the performance for other clients. We do provide a choice of JAVA and PHP chat rooms free of charge that run without reducing performance whilst still providing the same functionality.

CGI Scripts Policy

Each account comes with its own cgi-bin. You are free to use any CGI scripts you wish with the exception of any on the banned list (below), however we reserve the right to disable any CGI script that affects normal server operation or service to other Safe WebHost customers. You will be notified in 24 hours about offending cgi script.

Background Processes

We may allow programs to run continually in the background. These types of operations will be considered on a one to one basis and an extra charge may be incurred based on the system resources used and any operational maintenance needed.

IRC

We do not allow IRC or IRC bots to be operated on our servers. Examples include but are not limited to:

* Any IRC Bouncers such as, but not limited to, psyBNC
* IRC Eggdrops
* Proxy Servers
Any account found to be running IRC or IRC bots or proxy servers will be suspended forever.

Discussion Forum Scripts and Bulletin Boards

In order to protect all system users when making use of forums and bulletin boards, you are encouraged to use PHP MySQL-based scripts whenever possible. Scripts such as Ultimate Bulletin Board (UBB) are not allowed and any other scripts that are found to be using excess system resources will be asked to move to a dedicated server or be disabled. This is to protect all clients on our servers.

BANNED SCRIPTS

The following are scripts which either cause a great load on our servers or pose a serious security risk, and therefore can not be run on our system.

* Any gaming server software
* UltimateBBS (all versions)
* Ikonboard (all versions)
* IRC Egg Drops
* Proxy Servers
* nph-proxy
* The Anonymizer
* any soap mailers
These scripts are on the banned list because they are known to have serious impact on our entire server, thus adversely affecting the rest of our client's accounts. If in doubt, please check with us first.

Damages

If you violate any of our acceptable use policies, and it results in damage to our servers or causes Safe WebHost any additional expense or legal fees, you agree to compensate us in full for the amount of monetary damages multiplied by a factor of two (2) as determined by us.
